Brothers

These brothers get up early in the morning to practice baseball. Daniel was a little bored waiting for his older brother Kaden to arrive, so he decided to climb a tree. Climbing a tree at 7am can be a bit difficult. Come on Daniel you can do it!!!
"Help please!"These boys practice on our church fields. This is after Sean has been to Seminary for an hour. He attends a bible study for our youth starting at 6am. KUDOS for Sean!!!!

It was a bit windy but a warm 73 degrees. I love Texas! I didn't dare take a picture of myself. Pink pajamas with a big gray sweatshirt (I'm always cold), and no bra is just not pretty. Not to mention the hair frizzing (humidity) and no makeup. Count your blessings I spared you.

Indy loves a ride in the car. He might have caught some sweet bug breakfast on the way home as well.

Baseball Has Begun!!!

Baseball season has officially started for us here in Texas. This was a tournament weekend that the Houston Thunder (that's us) won. We came in 1st Place. Sean plays second base on the Varsity team. It's been fun to have Kaden & Katelyn come to the boys games. Yea, we think Sean is quite the stud!

We are so proud of Sean and his hard work in receiving his LIFE. Sorry about the pictures, my camera broke & it's difficult to do the zoom. Now we are on our way to EAGLE. Pray for us.

Bike Ride on the Bayou

What a beautiful day it was for a bike ride. I love living in Texas enjoying this great warm weather. This is my kind of winter. I am just fine without snow. We have this wonderful bayou in our neighborhood that we like to walk, run or ride. It is 3 miles all the way around. It's our little bit of swamp country.

We even took some time to appreciate the wildlife. Sometimes there can be wildlife you don't want to see (alligators, poisonous snakes, flying creepy bugs, etc.) but today it was perfect.Daniel and April are pooped out by the end. Daniel wore his beany because he has been dealing with ear-infections. The ENT actually went in his ear and vacuumed it out. Interesting. It has helped a lot & he is doing better now. I think Indy is showing off one of his ballet moves.

Decorating Hearts

Now for the decorating. It always sounds like such fun until you see the stacks of cookies. That's when Daniel asked, "Do I have to help decorate!" April and I got busy with the task at hand.

Daniel decided to help now seeing that chocolate (his favorite) will be used on the cookies.

But after putting the chocolate on his cookie he decided to eat . . . . . .

. . . . . and eat.

Until April was getting a little perturbed with him.

Back to work and April doesn't want anymore messing around. Ha, Ha, Ha

Whew!! That was a lot of work but worth it. Look at all those yummy cookies and what a great time I had with my children.

Baking Hearts with Mom

Making cookies with my cuties. I'm down to just two cuties to make cookies with. Scratch that I'm probably down to one cutie. Daniel's getting a little bored with the whole process and the endless cutting out and decorating of the cookies.
April did a great job with the mixing. It's hard work with these old fashion mixers.

Daniel provided support. Especially with the egg cracking.

Sifting is hard work but using your tongue seems to help.

Daniel did volunteer to be the taste tester. We all know the dough is much tastier than the cookie.
April hung in there with me and we got all the cookies finally cut out. Whew!Indy anxiously awaited for any piece of crumb to fall to the floor. He likes cookie dough too.
How exciting we are finally going to bake them. Kinda scarey putting the sheet into a hot oven.
Sneaker!!!

Taking them out of a hot oven is even scarier. "Mom would you put that camera down and help me please."
April did a great job baking heart cookies.

The Princess in the Tower

This is April's favorite spot in our home. Her room, at her windows (the castle room, we call it). She will sing and play her piano for the whole neighborhood to hear (and hear they do). The neighbors appreciate her beautiful voice.

She believes that she is a princess in her tower (and she certainly is). Our little princess in the tower.

Indy

Indy (the 7th addition to our family) is enjoying a beautiful February day. He loves to sit with the door open.

He's actually watching for those crazy squirrels that run along the top of the fence. He hopes beyond all hope that someday he will get one.

Opps! I blew his cover. He doesn't appreciate me taking pictures of him while he is doing reconnaissance work.

He decided to check the front but no action there either.

It was an enjoyable day non-the-less.

Daddy Daughter Night

Waiting patiently (well, probably not patiently- she asked me almost every hour if it was time yet). April was very excited.

April enjoyed a wonderful night with her Daddy Saturday. She is in Girl Scouts with her good friend Sadie and they had a Daddy Daughter Dance that was sports themed. April and Dad & Sadie and Dad went out for a scrumptious meal at Chili's and then headed over to the dance.

It was at one of our local high schools. April has never been in a school building and was amazed at its size. It stretches a mile in length. She was over-whelmed with the fun decorations and music. I guess they danced the 'Chicken dance' 5 times (Pat is still recovering). She came home just floating on a cloud talking about all the songs they danced to and what fun she had with her Dad.

Daniel's Arrow of Light

We are so proud of Daniel.
He received his arrow of light.
It was quite the process for him. He had a grueling 2 hour interview by a well meaning over zealous cub leader. Daniel thought he was going to throw up & never wanted to be in Scouts again.

I was asking for his Eagle after all the questions he had to answer.

But he passed and all is well. The ceremony was fun for him with the (little bit spooky) Indian rituals.
