Waiting !

While in Dallas the team went to a restaurant called 'Babes'. I thought it had to do with Babe Ruth the baseball player, no. I'm not really sure why it was called 'Babes'. It was just a true southern restaurant with good old fashion fried chicken, biscuits and potatoes with stringbeans. There was quite a wait and I must say they did have a very cute and fun waiting area outside but the children were very hungry and just thought the place looked "old". As you can see Daniel was becoming quite irritated but he's so handsome I had to snap a picture.

Sarah is happy but April has also had enough. I had nothing else to do but take pictures.

When we finally got in we did have a very good time and the food was delicious. The boys were enjoying the fun atmosphere and joined in to do the 'hokey pokey'.

I wanted to add this last shot. Across from the baseball fields was this cute neighborhood that had white picket fences in every yard. I loved it. It was very quaint.

American Girls

Welcome to the American Girl Doll Store in Dallas, Texas. We were in Dallas for Sean's Regional Baseball Tournament. We just could not resist a visit to the American Girl Store. It was fabulous!! April went with her two good friends from baseball (April's regular night life during spring and fall), Hannah and Sarah. It was just a beautiful store full of everything you would see in their catalog. April was just amazed. This of course is her doll Julie in pajamas.

Next we have Julie on an outdoor wedding swing. Very cute!!

Upstairs they have a cute little Bistro were even the dolls have a special seat to sit at the counter and share with the girls. They think of everything.

April and her delicious chocolate sundae. YUMMY!! Julie is eyeing that sundae as well hoping she will get a bit or two.

April had saved for this trip to the store and bought some very cute outfits for Julie -- of course Julie was very excited as well to get out to the car and try them on.

All and all it turned out to be a great day!! Just one more shot at Julie's cabinet. Bye, bye fabulous American Girl Store.

Easter

I'm not really sure why my children must always crawl up onto the table to do their projects but it seems to work for them. Egg coloring (not my favorite thing to do). Easter came with some trickery possibly by the Easter Bunny. Yarn was tied from their bedrooms leading them throughout the house to their Easter bag (that's right no Easter baskets for us -- I dislike very much Easter grass) scriptures were tied to their yarn at different points along the way. Some day I will get a picture of Sean in real clothes not just his gym shorts & white t-shirt.

Sean received a very interesting book called, 'Is Kissing Sinful' we thought it was cute for him just turning 16 and all.
We hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful Easter day. As we were sitting in church we had thunder, lighting and it grew very dark. It reminded me of the crucifixion. Then as we left church it turned out to be a beautiful clear day also reminding us of His glorious resurrection.
We loved this very special video and the words of our dear apostle Jeffery R. Holland. What a beautiful testimony. We are so grateful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for all of us.

Wildflowers

For Sean's Biology class (he takes an AP Biology class with other Christian homeschoolers) he has to find 10 different wildflowers to classify, press, and label. We decided to go for a walk at the George Bush Park. This is down the street from our house. It was fun & beautiful so I thought I would share our day with you. Daniel is helping Sean out by pointing to some flowers he should pick. "Very helpful Daniel, thank you." Sean waiting for us to catch up & Indy has gone back to see what is the problem.

April found some beautiful flowers as well.

April stopped to do a cart-wheel and Sean took off with her bike.

"Hey, Sean come back with my bike!!"

Opps! Watch out for the snake on the road! (It's okay it is just a baby . . . . . . wait a minute aren't the babies more poisonous?)

The scenery was really beautiful. Texas is a pretty neat place for a swamp.

Time to go back home. We found at least 7 different wildflowers so far.

Good job everyone. . . . . Look out Indy, April is driving!

Surprise!!

Pat called Tuesday morning and said he was just handed 4 tickets for Les Miserables. Of course we grabbed them. Kaden & Katelyn were able to come with us. None of us had seen this play before so it was a real treat. When we sat down I opened the Playbill and said to Pat, "Oh, look at all the songs they will be singing." We soon found out they sing the entire play. (Shows how artsy we are) We loved it, it was a beautiful play (sad) with wonderful music. It was after midnight by the time we got home and I had everyone stand & take a picture (I train them well) for my crazy blog of course. We are looking a bit haggard - but it was worth it.
